Florida Winners of the historical $1.5B Powerball Jackpot Steps Forward

Maureen Smith and David Kalthschmidt waited two months before announcing their 1/3 winning share of the $1.5B Powerball jackpot on January 13 to the public.

Smith shared the difficulty they had to go through as they kept the news of the big win a secret from friends and family. John and Lisa Robinson of Tennessee did quite the opposite when they quickly went to the media and the Today Show to announce that they were, in fact, one of three $1.5B Powerball winners.

One ticket-holder from Chino Hills, California has yet to come forward and claim their share.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot has grown to $116M with a $75.6M lump sum payment. The next drawing will be on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. You can play to win the Powerball from anywhere in the world here.

Powerball Winning Judge Will Spend Winnings On Family

James Stocklas spotted and took a photo of a yacht just hours before buying a winning $291.4 million Powerball lottery ticket. He was enamored by the yacht and thought to himself, ‘I need to hit the lottery for this,’

He discovered that he won the $291.4 million jackpot on Friday while eating at a Bethlehem diner, reading an article about the lottery on his smart phone. He learned that he matched all numbers down to the Power Ball, and trembled for an hour.

He chose to collect his winnings in a lump sum totaling $191,470,307.

He says he will use the winnings to take care of his family, saying “Family takes care of family”
