In 14 Weeks, Jersey Man wins USA Mega Millions Lotto twice

It’s never too bad to be named Joe when it comes to winning the lottery in Tinton Falls New Jersey.

This is something that a New Jersey resident has proved more than once by winning the lottery once again, just 14 months after collecting a major lottery jackpot in Monmouth County, a town of 18,000 people. People are raving about this milestone and are left wondering if average Joe has a magic lamp or a leprechaun helping him collect his winnings, after all with odds of one in fifty million- who wouldn’t?

Joe Garofalo, claimed his winning pot last Thursday amounting to half of the $198 million jackpot from the USA Mega Millions draw from last week’s Friday draw. Everyone was astonished from his second win, with such a huge inning for the second time in a matter of weeks.

Joe’s Mega Millions ticket was bought at the local Kwik Farms in the Monmouth County area. The winning half of the $198 million jackpot was sold at a Farmville in the rural county of West Richmond Virginia. After annuity, Garofalo went for the one time lump sum that amounted to $73,279,052 ( The sum is presented before tax cuts).

Florida Celebrates- $590.5 Million sold to a single ticket holder!

Another milestone in lotto history has been made Saturday May 18, 2013 as the second biggest jackpot in lottery history goes to a single winning ticket from a suburb in Tampa, Florida, according to lotto executives.

It started out as a $40 Million pot which progressed to a supersized jackpot after 13 draws failed to produce a single winning ticket. It culminated with the very first solo win in the State of Florida, taking home the 2nd biggest jackpot in lotto history and the current largest for American Powerball. This sets the record for the biggest single-ticket win in any lottery game and puts Powerball in the pinnacle of lottery history.

The winning lottery numbers for the May 18, 2013 draw were set at 10, 13, 14, 22, and 52, with Powerball number 11. After taxes and proceeds are deducted from the final jackpot, the winning ticket holder will come home with a lump sum payment amounting to $370.9 million.

On Friday, May 17, organizers predicted that the jackpot would reach an astonishing $600 million. It was only a few points away from meeting the predicted number by the Saturday draw. Despite this setback American Powerball’s jackpot was more than enough to establish its dominance and etch a record in lotto as the biggest single win for any game ever played.

Lotto officials said they were pretty pleased with the results and that this is Florida’s 6th lottery win for the record. Local lotto official Cindy O’Connell expressed her excitement as the state now has their first solo-win in the Powerball. This would be the sixth Florida Powerball winner and right now, it's the sole winner of the largest ever Powerball jackpot, We're delighted right now that we have the sole winner."

Lotto Executives did not provide the identity of the single winner right away and even evaded to produce any information for the winnings in the first few hours after the draw as there had not been anyone to come forward and claim the winnings with the ticket number combination.

Powerball is now available in 43 states and the District of Columbia as well as the US Virgin Islands at $2 dollars a ticket and draws on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 PM Eastern Standard time.

Powerball Fever : $600 Million

USA Powerball fever is gripping the nation once again. With an estimated jackpot of $600 Million, the lottery-buying-frenzy that is characteristic of big lottery jackpots is driving people to line up in all lottery outlets to get their chance of hitting it big.

The buying frenzy is that wild leading the multi-state USA Mega to continuously increase the jackpot estimate. When the May 15, 2013 Powerball draw produced new winner, jackpot estimate was increased the next morning to $475 Million. Twelve hours later, the jackpot estimate was increased to $550 Million. And one more day later, the jackpot estimate was raised again to $600 Million. It is Saturday morning right now and there is still a full day of ticket buying opportunity for players who are dreaming to strike it big. The jackpot estimate could considerably increase before the actual draw time. To how much? Your guess is as good as mine!

As it is, the $600 Million jackpot estimate stands as the second biggest lottery jackpot in the U.S., next to the $656 Million jackpot paid by Mega Millions on March 30, 2012. Powerball's cash value for today's draw stands at $376.9 Million, the third largest amount in history although the annuity estimate which is $600 Million is the second-largest on the lottery record.

Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. People in states that do not participate in the Powerball lottery are crossing state lines in order to buy their tickets. It is reported that lottery outlets near state lines of non-participating states are experiencing very long lines of people who want to buy their lottery tickets. People outside the United States are buying their Powerball tickets through online lottery outlets.

If you have a dream of becoming rich and you have $2, Powerball could make it happen tonight.

Tattslotto Winner Hopes Third Time’s the Charm!

What happens when fate comes knocking on your door twice?

Such is the case of a man based in Northcote who won TattsLotto twice in six weeks. The lottery winner from Melbourne who refuses to reveal his identity has amassed a total of $1.2 million from the two division one draws with additional system prizes in March and April.

His winnings were divided into two windfalls: the first one was given on March 9 totalling $416,462 and the second one on April 20 with an amount of $796,950. Both tickets were purchased at the Normanby News and Lotto in Thornbury.

The man and his wife were over the moon and still reeling from the good luck that befell them. In an official statement issued by Tatts, the winner was quoted saying, “It’s hard to believe it myself”. He said the first time he won TattaLotto in March he funnelled all the winnings to his mortgage payment. With the second winning, he will use the money to renovate his house.

The lucky guy said he will keep on buying his regular weekly ticket in the hopes of striking it out for the third time. He is keeping his fingers crossed that it might happen and replicate the luck of a man in Beechworth, Victoria who won Tattslotto three times back in 2008.

Tatts issued a statement that while winning TattsLotto more than once has happened to a few pople, it was rare for division one wins to be spaced so close together.

Top 10 Luxury Shoe Brands

What is it about women and shoes? The mere sight and smell of an It shoe from an It brand fashioned out of the most luxurious and luscious leather is enough to drive one crazy. Case in point: Observe how women are in the presence of the most coveted shoe brands. Their feral instincts come out in the open when reduced to fighting for a pair many others are after. After all, who could ever resist the thrill of snagging an It pair of shoes? The truth is women just can’t say no to beautifully sculptured works of art called shoes. More so if they’re from the world’s most coveted shoe brands. Read on to know the list of the top 10 luxury shoe brands in the world.

10 Gucci

1990 wasn’t exactly a good year for the Gucci fashion house. Sales were not good and its prestige was slipping away. Then came Tom Ford and the rest, as they say, is history. He was initially appointed the chief ready-to-wear designer and soon enough, he took over the men’s and shoe lines. Suffice to say, he was the man responsible for bringing sexy back to the fashion house with his slinky, sleek, and smart creations. The new designs were instantly considered classics. Needless to say, the whole world fell in love again with Gucci. Loyal following ensued and the company was finally able to get back on its feet. It didn’t take long for Gucci to become a billion-dollar luxury brand enterprise. Gucci shoes were especially noted for its comfort and craftsmanship.

9. Miu Miu

This high fashion brand from the Prada group has one of the most-sought after line of shoes in the world. The brand’s quirky name evokes an even quirkier spirit evident in their shoe designs fit for the modern, carefree, intelligentsia crowd. Named after Prada’s president and head designer Miuccia Prada, you can expect avant-garde designs tempered with wit. Fans of Miu Miu include cool and hip girls about town like Kirsten Dunst, Katie Holmes, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Chloe Sevigny just to name a few.

8. Stuart Weitzman

Stuart Weitzman made his mark in the shoe industry for his exquisite, one-off, million dollar shoes fit for a princess. His creations often walk the red carpet events particularly the annual Academy Awards where his shoes are given their rightful fifteen minutes of fame. Save for a 2007 red carpet controversy where the actress Weitzman chose didn’t go for his shoes, the brand is revered for its elegant designs and use of materials such as Lucite, cork, vinyl, and even 24-k gold.

7. Brian Atwood

The brand is a relatively newcomer in the fashion shoe block but the impeccable quality and superb craftsmanship tells otherwise. Brian Atwood shoes are definitely not for wallflower types as they are wonderful works of art meant to be ogled at. Given his architectural and structural shoe designs, it isn't any wonder how his shoes have the power to highlight a woman’s legs in a very flattering way. The heels are designed in such a way that the wearer’s legs look leaner and longer than ever without sacrificing comfort.

6. Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen is known for heading Givenchy's design team in the mid-90s, years after he launched his eponymous line of shoes, clothes, and bags. Shoe lovers all over the world covet and collect his shoes like wonderful pieces of priceless jewels.

5. Walter Steiger

Famous for his signature curved heels, Walter Steiger's shoes are what you will call classics with a twist. The designer is hailed for his inimitable and innovative designs that practically changed the entire shoe industry. The brand has since collaborated with premier fashion houses like Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein, Nina Ricci, Chloe, and Karl Lagerfeld.

4. Louis Vuitton

In the eyes of many, Louis Vuitton can never do anything wrong. Equally iconic and beautiful are their shoes crafted by the house's leather artisans. It has to be said that owning a piece of this brand is synonymous to owning a piece of tradition.

3. Manolo Blahnik

Remember the "Sex and the City" episode where Carrie Bradshaw was held at gun point in an NY street where, apart from her bag and watch, the robber also took her strappy Manolo Blahniks? Such is the power of Manolo Blahnik shoes. The designer was originally a fashion illustrator and was pluck from anonymity by then Vogue editor Diana Vreeland who told him he should focus on making shoes. He took her advise and never looked back since. Back in the 70s, we went against the grain and concentrated on creating stilettos back when everyone else was doing boots and chunky platforms. His perseverance paid off as the stiletto is considered a wardrobe staple up to now.

2. Christian Louboutin

The French footwear designer is the man responsible for creating dangerously high and sexy red-sole heels. Favored by A-list actresses and socialites, his designs scream temptress meets chic. People Start Lining Up As Powerball Finally Hits California

Powerball is an American lottery game known for its big jackpot prizes. Last April 8, California joined the list of states where the game is played. With the state now joining in on the Powerball fever, tons of people are lining up with money in hand, hoping to become the next big winner of the Powerball.

The tickets cost twice as much as the regular SuperLotto Plus and Mega Millions which are also pick six lottery types. However, the Powerball attracts more attention since it has the ability to grow $10 million after every draw that doesn't get a winner. It also has the biggest starting jackpot amount which makes it grow faster and more lucrative for players. The Powerball jackpot starts off at $40 million while the SuperLotto Plus and Mega Millions start off at $7 and $12 million, respectively.

The game is played twice a week across all states and is known for reaching up to $100 million on a regular basis. Its biggest jackpot to date was won November last year at an astonishing $587 million that were shared between two people. The biggest jackpot won by a single person in the Powerball amounted to $337 million. It is no surprise as to why people are so excited to buy a ticket for this lottery since it has a bigger payoff and grows much faster compared to the other lotteries in the U.S.

American Powerball is played by choosing 5 white balls from 1 to 59 and one red ball (Powerball) from 1 to 35. Players can select their own numbers or have the terminal randomly select numbers called quick pick or easy pick. The order at which the white balls are drawn is irrelevant but in order to win, the players must match at least three white balls and/or the red Powerball. Players cannot switch their Powerball number with their white ball number or vice-versa. With the added complexity of the game, it is estimated that chance of winning is 1 out of 175 million. Despite the odds, people still queue up to buy a ticket. There is also a Powerplay option; however, this option is not available in California.

A few days after the biggest Powerball jackpot last November, the California Lottery Commission voted unanimously that they will join the multi-state game making them the 43rd state to allow Powerball play. Only the following states don't play Powerball: Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming. Since becoming a part of the Powerball group, California has started aggressive ads and campaigns for the very popular lottery hoping that this will lure more players, which in turn will result in more revenue for public schools.

€130 Million Euro Millions Superdraw on March 29!

On March 22, 2013, the Euro Millions jackpot was raised to €100 Million or £85 Million, making it a Superdraw. There was no winner for that draw and the jackpot prize was increased to €113,430,166 or £96,302,211 for the March 26, 2013 draw. Still, there was no winner for that draw.

For the draw on March 29, 2013, the jackpot prize will reach €130 Millions or £110 Million. Now is the best time to get your Euro Millions Superdraw tickets as the prize money could be waiting for you.

What is Euro Millions?

Euro Millions is a pan European lottery that is participated in by France, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco. Euro Millions draws are held Tuesday and Friday of each week at 8:45 p.m. in Paris, France. Euro Millions prizes are paid in lump sum and are tax-free in the participating countries except Switzerland.

The game is played just like the other popular lotteries in the world. Five main numbers are to be chosen from 11 to 50 then the player will select two different lucky star numbers from a pool of 11 numbers. The prize pool is formed by the stakes generated from the participant countries. The main jackpot prize starts at €15 Million. If the jackpot prize is not won in a specific week, it will be rolled over to the following week, making the jackpot prize bigger and bigger. Beginning in November, 2009, however, a maximum jackpot had been pegged at €185 Million with any additional prize money rolled over added to the prize pool for the lower prize level with at least one winner. The Jackpot Pool Cap gives additional money to the winners of smaller prizes instead of continuing to add more money to the jackpot prize.

A Euro Millions Superdraw is the event when the regular jackpot prize is increased to a minimum of €100 Million, or approximately £85 Million. It is typically done only once or twice a year, when there is enough money in the prize pool, making the Superdraw unpredictable and irregular which means it can take place at any time.

A Superdraw works when funds are added to the existing Euro Millions jackpot. Let's say the Euro Millions jackpot has €40 Millions and the Superdraw fund would add another €60 Million, the jackpot will then reached €100 Millions to make it a Superdraw. A Superdraw can roll over to the next week if the jackpot prize is not won.

$338M USA Powerball Jackpot Won on March 22!

The March 23, 2013 USA Powerball draw produced a single winner from Passaic, New Jersey. The Saturday draw winning numbers were 17, 29, 31, 53, 53 and Powerball 31. The jackpot for the draw reached $338 million. If the winner will choose a lump sum cash payout, he will receive $221 million, or about $152 million after taxes. The winning ticket, the fourth-largest jackpot in Powerball history, was sold by Eagle Liquors in Passaic.
Thirteen tickets matched all but the Powerball number on this March 23, 2013 draw. Each of the thirteen tickets will receive $1 million. Those thirteen tickets were sold Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

A Dominican immigrant, Pedro Quezada, showed up on Monday afternoon at the Eagle Liquors where he purchased the winning to ticket to have it validated. New Jersey Lottery officials scheduled a news conference Tuesday afternoon to formally declare Pedro Quezada the winner of $338M Powerball jackpot.

The Quezada family migrated to the U.S. in the 1980s from the city of Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. The Quezadas are running the family-owned bodega, the Apple Deli Grocery. Neighbors claimed that Quezada is a hard-working man who they hardly see in the apartment they live in because he goes to work very early and come back home very late.

The Quezadas suffered misfortunes and setbacks before winning this huge Powerball jackpot. Fire had destroyed much of their bodega and thieves broke into their apartment taking almost everything. It seems that the hard work and perseverance of Pedro Quezada is finally rewarded. He promised to help his family with the money he won from the Powerball jackpot.

USA Powerball is a lottery game sold by state lotteries in the U.S. as a shared jackpot game. The Powerball lottery is coordinated by the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL), a non-profit organization formed by an agreement by the state lotteries involved. The jackpot starts at $40 million. Draws are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Powerball is played in 42 states (43 states when California joins in April 2013), Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The largest Powerball jackpot reached $587.5 million in November, 2012. This huge jackpot was split between two winning tickets, one bought by a Missouri couple and the other one by one man from Arizona. The largest USA Powerball jackpot won by a single ticket, $365 million, was purchased by eight Lincoln meatpacking plant workers in February 2006.

The Massive Jackpot Prize by Japan Jumbo Draw in June 2013

The main reason why there are millions of lotto players all around the world is its lucrative prizes. For instance, the Japan Jumbo lotto draw is open to all lotto players all around the world and attracts millions of players every draw.

The lottery system of this one is comprised of other lotto games common in Japan and known as the Takara-kuji. The Japan Jumbo draw is the culmination of all the big draws of the year. However, there are regular draws the rest of the year which also give out massive prizes.

The Japan Jumbo Draw can be accessed worldwide and everyone is welcome to play especially the international subscribers. One of the best features of this lottery game is that it has very high odds of winning.

The Japan Jumbo draw is some of the few example of a non-exclusive lotto that can be accessed in Japan. This lotto game creates a name for itself starting with the date the tickets are on sale because there are limited amount of tickets and not everyone can buy the tickets. Even Japanese themselves are not assured that they can purchase tickets. The local and official lotto ticket distributor, which is the Mizuno Bank, keeps the tickets until it is time to sell them. Most often than not, the tickets are sold out immediately.

The expansion of this lottery game to international players began in 2003 and done through secured online purchasing system. Through this expansion, Japanese and international players gained access to buy lottery tickets easily and simply.

For the upcoming June 2013 draw, Japan Jumbo Draw offers as much as US$ 278 Million in its cash prizes and is broken down as follows:
  • 17 First Prize Payouts Totaling ¥5.9 Billion (Over ¥350 Million each)
  • 68 Second Prizes Worth Over ¥680 Million (Over ¥10 Million each)
  • PLUS: At least ¥18 Billion in cash payouts for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and other subsidiary Prizes!
The massive prizes from the Japan Jumbo Draw are the main reasons why more players are attracted to play here than other standard lottery worldwide. The best part is is that there are no government taxes imposed by the Japan government.

The Italian Lotto Jackpot on Tuesday, February 5 is now estimated at EU 42.8M or (EST US$57.3 Million).

Today’s Italian Superenalotto traces its origins back to the 1950s Enalotto lottery game. Back then it was considered as one of the biggest Lottery games in Europe. The Italian Superenalotto game was re introduced in December 1997 by SISAL, a private company that has been handling betting and gaming accounts for over six decades. The game was redesigned in such a way that it would produce massive jackpots with staggering stakes and still be easy to play.

Italian SuperEnalotto draws take place at 8 pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week.
The SuperEnalotto jackpot starts out at €1,300,000 and each time it is not won, it is added onto the next draw, increasing until the numbers are all correctly matched. The jackpot prize can reach epic proportions when the jackpot continues to go unclaimed. And, since there is no cap on the amount of jackpot, it will keep on going higher and higher.

Due to the fact that the guess-range is so wide, rollover draws and massive jackpots are very common and some of the largest jackpots in Europe are regularly produced.

Playing the Italian SuperEnalotto is very easy. You must choose any 6 numbers from 1-90. When you match all six numbers, the massive multi-million jackpot is yours.

This popular Italian game has already topped the €177 Million Jackpot mark, and continues to produce record-breaking Jackpots.
