A man from North Carolina, who bought five Powerball tickets
while passing through Virginia, has won $1 million. The man was on his way to Connecticut
to visit family members when he stopped for gas at Mr. B’s Welcome Center in Harrisonbur,
Petke and bought the tickets for last week’s record-setting $587.5 million Powerball
draw. One of the man’s tickets matched the first five numbers to win $1. Additionally,
three other tickets sold in Virginia were also good for $1 million in the Wednesday
night drawing.
