Winner of $250,000 is from Michigan

Rojelio Reyes of Ypsilante, Michigan correctly matched five numbers that won him $250,000 in the Mega Millions Lottery last May 16.

His daughter was accepted in the master's degree program and his son was celebrating a surprise marriage on the same day he won the lottery.

He said, "we will pay bills and help with college costs." They are planning to take a vacation in the future.

Unemployed man wins Mega Millions Lottery

An Army veteran, who was laid off from work two months ago won $10,000 in the Mega Millions lottery last Friday.

Tom Fischer who was one number away from the $24 Million prize, was happy with his winnings.  "I wanted more but we got what we got and we're happy for what we got," he said.

He said, the money will at least help his family while he is searching for job. He plans to pay the bills and treat his family with a flat screen television.

17 years after winning the $102 Million lottery jackpot

Shirley Pence, a part time secretary won the $102 Million Jackpot on the Powerball draw of March 4, 1995.

She and her husband Don who were in their 50's when they won the jackpot. They opted for the annuity, receiving $3.5 million dollars every year for 20 years. They retired immediately.

By 2005, they will receive the last of their checks but they are set financially. They shared their blessings by donating generous amounts to charity.

"We got the best of both worlds," Shirley said. "We are really blessed."

Winner of $50 Million Lottery Jackpot in OLG Lotto

An electrician from Toronto, Timothy Schell won the $50 Million Lotto jackpot in OLG Lotto.

He has no knowledge of his win, but he joked with his friend over the weekend about winning the lottery. It was Tuesday morning when he finally decided to check his numbers.

"Things like this don’t happen to guys like me,” said Schell.

A Columbia woman who has been entering the MegaMillions for 10 years has finally won $1 Million. She bought her ticket at a QuikMart in Bishopville when she stopped for a family visit.

"Don't give up" was the advice she gave to other lottery players. Her lucky numbers were 10, 11, 12, 14, and 24.

Two Employees sue co-workers over $118 million ticket

Two employees of a Chicago bakery are suing their co-workers who unfairly left them out of their share of the prize.

For about a year, Jose Franco and Marco Medina, were regular participants of their office pool along with their co-workers. The pool won $9 on May 1 and it was decided that they will use the winnings to buy tickets for the May 4 draw.

The $118 Million jackpot on May 4 was won by the group. But Franco and Medina were not included when the group divided the $118 Million prize.

Franco and Medina said that the group collected money to buy tickets for the May 4 draw but they were not asked to contribute.

Winner of a lottery prize still buys lotto ticket

Chris Bowers who won in the National Lottery last year still buys tickets for the weekly draw. He is also encouraging his friends and others to play.

He said: “You have got to buy a ticket. I still buy them and I tell all my friends to buy them. I’ve just won another £10.

Mr Bower gave up being a forklift driver for 47 years and moved to Northampton with his wife, says that their life is much easier now.

He said: “It does make life a lot easier. I would urge people to go out there an buy a ticket. You have got to be in it to win it.”

After Squandering Her Lottery Prize, Former Winner Happy With Family


Callie Rogers, 25, Britain's youngest winner of the lottery, admits that she's looking forward to giving birth to twins next month. "I'm so excited about having my boys," she told the Sunday Mirror. "It's the best gift anyone could ever have given me and far better than ever winning the jackpot." Rogers won £1.9 million (US$3 million) when she was 16. Since then she had squandered away the prize giving away gifts, partying and using cocaine. She now lives with Paul Penny, a factory supervisor and the father of her twins. She says that "I might not have any of my millions left, but I have met the man of my dreams and together we are about to have twins and both of us could not be more excited."

Man won the Powerball lottery with 6 tickets

A man from Glendale, Arizona bought 6 tickets from a QuikTrip store, which landed him a second prize of $1Million for each of those 6 tickets.

The man who refused to divulge his name, won six of the 10 winning Powerball tickets in the April 25 draw.

His lucky numbers were 4,25,29,34,43 and Powerball 29.

Three winners share the $75Million OZ Lotto Jackpot

The second highest lotto jackpot prize in the game's history was shared by three winners. The three new millionaires came from South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. Each of them will take home $24.9 Million.

The lucky combinations were 17,8,28,34,41,42,6 and supplementary numbers 4 and 19.

Court Ruling of $1M Lotto Ticket Goes To Original Owner

According to the judge’s ruling, Sharon Duncan and not Sharon Jones should be eligible for the lotto prize money. Sharon Duncan threw away her ticket after the scanner read out that it was not a winner. However, White County Judge argues that Jones never met the burden of proof stating that Duncan abandoned her right to claim the cash prize.

Elgin Woman Gets Criminal Record For Fake Lottery Ticket

Leandria Williams, 28, tried to claim the $656 million in Mega Millions with a ticket bought online eight minutes after the winning numbers were drawn. She was initially charged with wire fraud for falsification of documents; however, charges have been increased to attempted theft and forgery, says the Cook County sheriff’s office.
