Marine Corporal Wins $2.9M Jackpot

While en route to Nellis Air Force Base, Cpl. Alexander Degenhardt and several Marine buddies decided to play the slots at the Bellagio. Hitting the penny slots, Degenhardt won $2,882,808.32 on the Money Vault Millionaires Seven slot. He will receive around $100,000 per year for 20 years. The Marine had earlier been accepted as a bone marrow transplant donor to an anonymous patient. After winning the jackpot, Degenhardt was asked if he was going to go through with the bone marrow transplant donation. "They asked me if I was sure I wanted to go through with it, because it's kind of painful, but what's a little pain if it will save someone's life?" the U.S. Marine said Friday. "I look at this as kind of good karma for that." He plans to help his pregnant sister, as well as his mom in paying the bills.
